Description

The project is being developed by Chagem Power and Frontier Energy II Alpha KS. GEM_CM Construction, Frontier Energy II Alpha KS and Chania Green Generation Ltd are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 50%, 25.5% and 24.5% respectively.

The electricitiy generated from the plant will offset 155,519t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

Development status

Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in 2025.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project will be sold to Kenya Power and Lighting under a power purchase agreement.

Contractors involved

Power Construction Corporation of China is expected to render engineering procurement construction services for the wind power project.

GE Renewable Energy will be the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The wind power project consists of 34 turbines.
