Description

The project was developed by The St-Laurent Energies consortium. Enbridge Income Fund and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 51% and 49% respectively.

The project supplies enough clean energy to power 70,000 households. The project cost is $678.604m.

Development status

The project is currently active. The project got commissioned in January 2013.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Hydro-Quebec under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years, starting from 2013.

EDF Renewables Canada was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the wind power project.

Lac Alfred (Lac Alfred I) is equipped with Senvion MM82 turbines. The phase consists of 75 turbines with 2MW nameplate capacity.

Lac Alfred (Lac Alfred II) is equipped with Senvion MM92 turbines. The phase consists of 75 turbines with 2MW nameplate capacity.

EDF Renewables is the O&M contractor for the wind power project, commencing from the year 2013.
