Description

The project was developed by Scatec. The project is currently owned by Scatec with a stake of 45%, African Infrastructure Investment Managers with a stake of 10% and STANLIB.

Linde Sola PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 121 hectares.

The project generates 86,000MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 20,000 households, offsetting 80,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is $102.079m.

Development status

The project got commissioned in July 2014.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Eskom Holdings SOC under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years. The contracted capacity is 40MW.

Contractors involved

Black Economic Empowerment was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the solar PV power project.

JinkoSolar Holding was selected as the supplier of the PV modules for the project. The company installed 138,000 modules at the site.

SMA Solar Technology supplied 43 of its Sunny Central 850CP inverters to the project site.

Black Economic Empowerment is the O&M contractor for the solar PV power project.
