The project is developed by Minas Energy, Nova Scotia Power and Oxford Frozen Foods. These companies also have ownership stakes in the project.

Acciona Energia was selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the wind power project.

Nordex was selected as the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The project consists of 34 units of AW-116/3000 turbines, each with 3MW nameplate capacity.

Acciona Energia is the O&M contractor for the wind power project for a period of 15 years.

The South Canoe Wind Farm (South Canoe Wind Farm Phase 1), consists of Tubular Steel towers supplied by DSME Trenton. These towers are around 92m high.
