Description
The project is currently owned by Comision Federal de Electricidad with a stake of 100%.
It is a Steam Turbine power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant can also run on Fuel Oil. The fuel is procured from El Encino - Topolobampo Pipeline. The project underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 2015-2016.
The project generated 1,324,000MWh of electricity.
The thermal power project consists of 2 turbines each with 160 MW nameplate capacity and 1 turbines each with 40 MW nameplate capacity respectively.

The project got commissioned in October 1968.
Power purchase agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to Comision Federal de Electricidad under a power purchase agreement with a contracted capacity is 320MW.
