Songkhla Gas Fired Power Plant, Thailand

The Songkhla Gas Fired Power Plant is 1,700MW gas fired power project. It is planned in Songkhla, Thailand. The project is currently in permitting stage. It will be developed in single phase. The project construction is likely to commence in 2022 and is expected to enter into commercial operation in 2024.

Description

The project is being developed by Korea Gas and Korea Western Power. These companies also have ownership stakes in the project.

It is a combined cycle gas turbine (ccgt) power plant.

The project cost is expected to be around $1,734.34m.

The project construction is expected to commence from 2022. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2024.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project will be sold to Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand under a power purchase agreement.
