Description

The project is currently owned by Contact Energy.

The geothermal site has in total 63 number of wells. Out of this 54 are production wells and remaining 9 are injection wells. Wairakei Geothermal Power Plant runs at a temperature of 130 Degree Celsius.

The project generates 1,550GWh of electricity.
