Finnish company Wärtsilä has introduced an advanced engine auxiliary module, the Wärtsilä Connector Module, to improve the construction, installation and commissioning processes for its 18V50SG engine power plants.

This offering will benefit its power plant customers by reducing construction time and costs.

Connector Module will streamline the installation process, allowing modules to be permanently set in place before the engine’s installation.

This approach is expected to cut the total construction time of Wärtsilä power plants by approximately three months, offering cost reductions.

The company estimates that the new module design will reduce the installation and commissioning schedule by 25%.

The Wärtsilä Connector Module will also optimise space utilisation, enabling a reduction in the engine powerhouse building width by at least six feet.
