With the use of highly efficient boilers from Aalborg Engineering, it has been possible for Finnfjord to save 40% of its energy consumption and 250,000t of CO2, annually.
Finnfjord is among the ten largest Ferrosilicium plants in the world and has a 15% share of the European market.
It has three FeSi furnaces with a total annual production capacity of 100,000t of ferrosilicium. The energy input to produce this amount of ferrosilicium at the Finnfjord plant is approximately 950GWh equally between electrical power and coal.
