Kissling - Design and Production of Reduction GearsL. Kissling & Co. AG has been developing, designing and producing reduction gears for the most varied applications since 1925. All products are characterized by the high-quality materials and production to be expected from a Swiss manufacturer. As an ISO-certified (9001:2000) company, quality entails the most careful monitoring, checking incoming goods to the dispatch of our finished products. The company's business operation is based on four main pillars:
Kissling is proud to be able to say that it is among the pioneers in the sector of gear-engineering and one of the leading suppliers in the ropeway drive segment. Kissling customer bases include numerous global players. KISSLING TURBO GEARSMotivation, ongoing development and intensive training of our staff guarantee to meet the challenges of the market. The development team completed various vocational training courses in the field of sleeve bearing engineering and rotor dynamics. This strategy has enabled the rapid development of the high quality and economically attractive ER-GL gear series. The references for pump and compressor drives are already well established. Our customers value the flexibility, the close technical collaboration with the clients and the high quality work of the Zurich-based gear company. Kissling Turbo gears are designed according to international standards such as DIN 3990, AGMA and API 613 if requested. The Kissling product range covers power up to 10MW and the pitch line velocity is generally below 130m/s. ER-SERIES - INDUSTRIAL STANDARD SINGLE STAGE GEAROne of Kissling's first developments in high speed applications was the ER-gear series. Single stage parallel shaft gears are used in all kinds of applications. The design is highly standardised maintaining a good portion of flexibility for special customer needs. ER-gear boxes are available with roller and/or sleeve bearings and depending on the requirements with single or double helical tooth system. NEW DEVELOPMENTS FOR THE TURBO GEAR SEGMENTTo the long standing-tradition with high speed gears, Kissling consequently continues its developments remaining always open to new developments and needs from and on the market. Kissling is working to cover the full range of power requirements with a series of maximally standardized products. Standardization and modern production design allow extremely attractive and competitive prices. SIRIUS SERIES COAXIAL GEAR BOXBeing a relatively small company, Kissling selectively works also with external consultants who bring new ideas, additional knowledge and a vast experience in the gear industry. One of these new concepts, which Kissling is following, is the SIRIUS series. The SIRIUS series is a coaxial gear box with three-star wheels, with in and outlet sun wheels co-rotating in the same direction. This concept convinces through its simplicity, leaving away the expensive ring gear and planet carrier. EPYCLIC ASTRO-GEARAnother new development is a coaxial gear box, based on epicyclic gears, specially designed for gas turbine units and similar applications with high reduction ratios. The study was executed for a 2.4MW gas turbine application with reduction ratios between 15 and 18. Additional requirements were two or three auxiliary units, which had to be connected to the gear. The main goal for this design was highest availability combined with highest efficiencies at a reasonable cost. The result is a highly compact, very robust and low in maintenance gear box. For simple gear requirements or highly complex gear combinations: we can always provide our customers with the appropriate solution. Multiple shafts, special envelope constraints, environmental influences, extreme temperatures, contaminated or explosive surroundings with high speeds are the challenges Kissling looks for.
