Malaysia-based ERS Energy Group has selected Chinese solar module maker Seraphim to supply solar modules for its 300MW solar plant, to be located in Zambales province in the Philippines.

Seraphim has chiefly agreed to supply 550/555W modules.

The modules utilise multi-busbar cell technology, resulting in lower internal losses and a reduced risk of micro cracks. This enhances power generation efficiency and lowers the balance of system costs.

The supply of the solar module is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2023 and will be completed by the second quarter of 2024.

Seraphim global sales vice-president Insan Boy stated: “We believe that our close collaboration with ERS Group will help us achieve our sustainable development goals in clean energy and bring positive impacts to the economy, environment and social development of the Philippines and the local communities.”

ERS Group managing director Jonathan Kan stated: “We have successfully completed several power station supply collaborations with Seraphim in the past. We are impressed with Seraphim’s outstanding component quality and performance, which is why ERS Group will continue to work with Seraphim to jointly promote the development of the solar energy market in the Philippines.”

Seraphim has been present in the Philippines market since 2016, continuously optimising its performance and service levels based on the requirements and installation conditions of local projects.

In July 2022, the company signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Resolar, a Luxembourg-based energy company, to supply 1GW of solar modules during 2023.

The MoU was part of the EU’s REPowerEU plan, which aims to accelerate the clean energy transition.
