Description

The project was developed by Siemens and is currently owned by Electricity Supply Board.

Ardnacrusha is a run-of-river project. The gross head of the project is 28.5m. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, are 4 in number. The penstock length is 41m. The penstock diameter is 6m. The project generated 332 GWh of electricity.

The project has 1 electric generator installed at the site. The generator capacity is 25 MVA.

The project has 3 electric generators installed at the site. The generator capacity is 30 MVA.
