The project is developed and owned by BC Hydro.

The hydro reservoir capacity is 25,000 million cubic meter. The gross head and net head of the project are 183.8m and 170.7m respectively.

Mica (Mica (Units 1,2,3 & 4)) consists of 2 turbines with 444MW nameplate capacity.

The Mica (Mica (Units 1,2,3 & 4)) has 2 electric generators installed at the site.

Development Status

The project construction commenced in 1967 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 1976.

Mica (Mica (Unit 6)) is equipped with Andritz Hydro francis turbine. The phase consists of 1 turbine with 520.3MW nameplate capacity.

Mica (Mica (Units 1,2,3 & 4)) is equipped with Power Machines francis turbines. The phase consists of 2 turbines with 444MW nameplate capacity.

Mica (Mica(Unit 5)) is equipped with Andritz Hydro francis turbine. The phase consists of 1 turbine with 520.3MW nameplate capacity.

Andritz Hydro supplied 1 electric generator for the Mica (Mica (Unit 6)). The generator capacity is 570 MVA.

Andritz Hydro supplied 1 electric generator for the Mica (Mica(Unit 5)). The generator capacity is 570 MVA.
