Meeraner Dampfkesselbau GmbH specialises in the manufacturing of pressure parts for highly efficient coal and lignite-fired plants, as well as industrial boilers, waste incinerators, and biomass-fired plants.

Attemperators, headers and distributors for power plants

Meeraner Dampfkesselbau manufactures utility and steam generator components for plants up to and more than 1,100MWe with 300bar+ pressures, 600°C live-steam temperatures, and reheating of up to 620°C for most available fuels (coal, lignite, gas, and biomass).

The company produces pressure elements that provide a manufacturing area of 20,000m² with an annual capacity of 250,000 hours.

Meeraner Dampfkesselbau supplies a broad spectrum of parts, including membrane walls, headers, separators, attemperators, coils, and burners. The company provides burner holes, black-white connectors, pressure vessels, and piping and fittings.

Meeraner's services also involve tube bends, steel, and sheet metal construction.

Since 2009, the company has been extending its pressure parts product range. It now processes and supplies industrial steam generators.

Burners and cladding for waste incinerators and biomass facilities

Meeraner's clients include national and international energy suppliers, as well as power stations and constructors.

More specifically, the company works with customers from the steel production and petrochemical industry, as well as operators of waste heat plants, incinerators, and biomass combustion facilities.

Practical welding training for power applications

Meeraner Dampfkesselbau's employees have many years of professional experience and are continuously provided with further advanced qualifications in order to meet all current and future requirements.

The company has its own welding training facility, which is certified by the German Welding Society (DVS). The sessions are both theoretical and practical, and provide workers with knowledge of several steel types, including general construction, high-temperature, austenitic, as well as martensitic chromium.

The company also specialises in aluminium and nickel-based alloys, in addition to copper training.

Other organisations and assembling companies use the expertise of Meeraner Dampfkesselbau's welding training centre to teach and qualify their own welders.

About Meeraner Dampfkesselbau

The company is a subsidiary of the Japanese Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems group and combines more than 150 years of experience in pressure part manufacturing with recognised high-quality performance.

Meeraner formed from F L Oschatz, which is a tinsmith and ironware trading business established in 1853. Meeraner Dampfkesselbau became a registered company in 1862 and is now considered a leading German steam boiler engineering provider.

In 2007, it joined the Hitachi Group and, by 2014, the power plant construction company Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Europe GmbH purchased the majority of the original Meeraner business.

Meeraner Dampfkesselbau founded a design and engineering branch in the Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Europe office in Duisburg, Germany. Products are manufactured in Meerane, Germany, and shipped all over the world.

The team currently consists of 220 employees.
