Turbine Technology Services President Inducted into University of Central Florida’s College of Business Hall of Fame

Turbine Technology Services (TTS), a full-service gas turbine engineering services firm based in Orlando, Florida, is celebrating the induction of Tony Thornton to the University of Central Florida’s College of Business Administration Hall of Fame.

Tony Thornton, the president of TTS, is among a select group of UCF Alumni who have been recognized for their success and achievement in their industries, as well as their support of the UCF Executive Development Program, which focuses on developing curriculum for continuing education and best practices for business professionals.

A leader in energy industry engineering services, Turbine Technology Services provides gas turbine technology and engineering consulting services on a global scale for power generation professionals seeking to maintain operational excellence, including the successful management of gas turbine installation and modernization projects on a worldwide scale.

Although now an adopted Central Floridian where he has lived for 20 years, Mr. Thornton is originally from Scotland where he studied at the Glasgow Caledonian University. He later earned an Executive MBA from the University of Central Florida, the second largest university in the US with over 56,000 students.

"It’s a genuine honor to receive this recognition from UCF, a university that has given so much to TTS in terms of quality graduates, management and executive training and other high-quality university resources," said Thornton.

As a respected member of both the Central Florida business community and the global energy industry, Mr. Thornton has often contributed at UCF business events and competitions and has been a featured speaker at several power generation industry conferences. He is an active member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and ASME’s International Gas Turbine Institute’s Electric Power Committee, where his experience helps develop best practices in the operation and application of gas turbines in the electric utility industry.

Tony Thornton is also a member of ‘Globalscot’, a UK government networking initiative for prominent overseas Scottish business persons.
